What I learned in maths today

Today my group in maths had to order numbers with decimal places. The hardest thing about it was how if you got the order wrong you'd have to restart that whole entire row of numbers.

 

Something special to me

One of my favourite objects I have is My Panasonic HC-V180 Camcorder. It's the video camera I use to film trains with. I got it for Christmas in 2020. And I've been using it ever since.

Unistructural: 

1. What is the purpose of this story? (Entertain, inform) To spread news of DNA about Moa’s and how they could be de-extinct.

2. What words does the author use to describe events and actions? de-extinct.

3. What is the setting and who are the ‘characters’? Moa’s

Multistructural:

1. Summarise the main points of the story. They have found that there is DNA of Moa’s. And it is possible that we could bring back Moa’s.

2. What are 3 things that you remember from the text? One species that can’t be brought back is the dinosaur, Dinosaurs lived till at least 65 million years ago. They’ve missed the de-extinction bus by around 64.5 million years.

 Relational:

Dinosaurs got extinct because of the huge meteorite that hit earth 66 million years ago. However Moa’s are different. They got extinct by people hunting them down. From what scientists think is that Moa’s got extinct around 1440 - 1445 AD. The last confirmed Huia sighting was in 1907. However there have been sightings of Huia’s in the wild in the 1960s by a few people. But the last confirmed sighting was in 1907.

It was a sunday night, and as per usual I was half asleep on the couch in front of the television and all of a sudden I awoke with a startle, I couldn’t believe my eyes! There seemed like some kind of alien was abducting a child around 8-10 years old. Was that, was that my little brother T-J?! I haven't seen him in years! “We will do everything we can” promised N.A.S.A. 

11TH OF AUGUST 2046 1:00 PM 

Fast forward one day, I made my way to Washington D.C, where the N.A.S.A Headquarters is located.

I think this term I've done quite well with my spelling.

But I want to improve on my Hand Writing.

Goal Setting Term One

My first goal is to get better at my Multiplication. For an example I would like to get better at my 6, 7, 8, & 9 times tables. I have learned most if not all of my 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 times tables. To complete this goal I could go to Mr Acton, Mum, or Dad. And I could also be tested on my Multiplication every Monday and Thursday evening.

For my second goal I would also like to get better at my Writing. I could complete this goal by going to Mum and Dad. I also could complete this goal by practicing every Monday evening.

For something I'm good at I think it's Inquriy and Spelling in a way. If I needed help I could go to Mum. If I needed help I could go to Mum. And also I could practice 5 minutes every Wedenesday.

For a goal outside of school it's photography. More specifically taking photos and videos of trains with my camera and tripod. But in the Far North we don't have any trains sadly.
